There may well be a case for more hotel rooms in Frederick County but Shuan Butcher (PR at Journey Through Hallowed Ground) does not make such a case.
The fact that a consultant hired by his group estimated some spectacular numbers for “impacts” from historic tourism says absolutely nothing about whether we are short of hotel rooms in the County.
If we are short then occupancy rates in the existing hotels would be increasing, room charges rising, and profitability of the hotels would be surging. Is that happening?
I haven’t heard it, but perhaps those best positioned to judge are hotel operators. Not Journey through Hallowed Ground. COMMENT at Frederick News Post 2016.05.25
